The light and landscape of Cape Cod played a major role in shaping the imagination
of one of our greatest artists, Edward Hopper. Since 1983 veteran landscape painter
Philip Koch has had 16 residencies staying and working in Hopper’s former studio
in South Truro.
As a young artist Koch was inspired by seeing Hopper’s art to change from painting
abstractions to working in a realist direction. In his illustrated presentation Koch will
share his insights into Hopper’s work and life on the Cape.
