Alice
Mongeau is a Modern Impressionist who has
been painting Cape Cod for over three decades. This experience
has given her
a rare command of diverse subjects. Her sophisticated use of
color, unusual points of view, superb draftsmanship and complex
treasury of brushwork styles bring impressive finesse to her
work.
Primarily a plein air painter, Alice has painted from nature
across the United States and in England, France and Italy.
Her work can be found in prestigious corporate and museum
collections including those of BankBoston/Fleet Bank, Aetna
Insurance Company,
GTE, IBM, Dean Witter and the Cape Cod Museum of Art. Alice’s
many regional and national awards include a “Best of
Show” from
the Copley Society.
Artist’s Statement:
Inspiration is another word for passion. Without it, I could
not go on painting. The juxtaposition of color and light
in nature inspires me wherever I see it, and I see it
everywhere. My eye
tells me how to paint while my heart tells me what to see. |
