 Fresh Paint Video: Paul Schulenburg

Paul Schulenburg

“The painting, left, was done in the Boston Public Gardens recently during the Copley Society Fresh Paint day. I went out with Peter Kalill, Jeff Bonasia and Colin Page, but by the afternoon we had all gone our separate ways looking for the right subject to work on. Not satisfied with my cityscape from that morning I finally decided to paint a birdbath in the park in the afternoon.

I found that I wound up on YouTube. Click on link below. (Never underestimate the power of the Plein-Air painter to attract the attention of pretty girls....)”

Joyce Johnson

Joyce Johnson, sculptor, and Lori Meads, Vice President of Seamen's Bank.

Joyce Johnson was named a “Truro Treasure” as part of the town’s 17th Annual Truro Treasures Weekend. A teacher as well as a sculptor, Joyce has had over 800 students. In 1972, she found Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. The weekend’s festivities included the dedication of a Johnson sculpture that was unveiled at the Truro Central School. The casting of the bronze (shown above) was paid for by Truro Treasures and a generous $2,500 grant from Seamen’s Bank.
