Old Boat House     Oil on Panel
Image 12 x 9      Framed 18 x 15      $1,200

“This was a popular subject for many of us. An old boathouse, high on a hill overlooking the lobsterboats in the harbor. It started out as a gray day but the clouds were beginning to part. Someone had left a dinghy leaning against the building in such a way that it looked it was there just to complete the painting.”

Boat House in Port Clyde     Oil
Image 12 x 9     Framed 18 x 15     $1,200

“Typically one would walk down to the water and look out at the boats in the harbor. I decided to stand on a pier and look back. I like the way the elements of the painting stack up one after the other: The rocks are resting by the water and you can see just a bit of a neighboring pier. Up the hill a bit is an overturned dinghy, then a nice boathouse. Back up on the hill overlooking it all is a simple red house, surrounded by trees an just a hint of sky coming through.”

Island Off Drift Inn Beach      Oil
Image 9 x 12      Framed 15 x 18      $1,200

“From the beach we looked across the water at an island. There is a clearing on the island and at the top of the hill there is a single house. There was a beautiful clear sky, but even on a clear day there can be many color and temperature changes in the sky, ranging from deep blues to brighter blues to greens and purples.”
