“I am very excited about this piece. I just loved the light and composition. The figure is the central focus. The objects that surround her seem to express an attentiveness and sense of gentle protection. Her pose expresses her thoughtful, gentle, benevolent spirit. She possesses purity. The room is gently illuminated. The strong beams of sunlight highlight her significance. The paint is applied directly with bold colors and high contrast. There is a sense of formality. It was not intentional but as the piece developed, I felt there was a bit of a connection to some compositions found in paintings from the renaissance.”
