Sarah J. WebberSarah J. Webber grew up in St. Paul, MN, in an artistic family. At an early, age she showed an affinity toward both music and art. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in fine arts and relocated west to Jackson Hole, WY. There she became involved with the region’s artists and developed her own interest in oil painting. Sarah took workshops with landscape painters Scott Christensen and Matt Smith and explored portraiture at Central Wyoming College.

In the 1990s she furthered her art studies at Scottsdale Artists’ School where she took workshops with Kevin MacPherson and attended life drawing classes. In 2001, after spending nearly 10 years working in art galleries, she began painting full time. She placed oil paintings of barnyard animals, subjects she loves, in galleries and her work quickly sold. Sarah’s influences include masters Frank Tenney Johnson, William Herbert Dunton, Arnesby Brown, Bob Kuhn, Peggi Kroll Roberts and Glenn Dean.

She has been in many group exhibitions and one woman shows including the Scottsdale Artists’ School Beaux Art Bash, the Settler’s West Miniature Show, the Mountain Oyster Club Show in Tucson and the Salon International 2007 at Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, TX.

Sarah was recently featured in the Art Values and On the Scene sections of Southwest Art Magazine. Her work can be found in collections across the country including those of actress Diane Lane, K.C. (K.C. and the Sunshine Band), actor Timothy Bottoms and the Mountain Oyster Club. Sarah’s studio is in Tucson, AZ, but in the summer, you can find her in Jackson Hole, WY.
